Industry veterans Peter Barris, managing general partner of NEA, and Edward J. Mathias, managing director of The Carlyle Group were named today as chairmen. They are joined by Mark Levine, managing director of Core Capital, and Don Rainey, general partner of Grotech Capital Group, who were announced as chairmen at the conclusion of last year’s successful conference. All four serve on the MAVA board of directors.

The Mid-Atlantic Venture Association (MAVA) today introduced a series of CXO Roundtable luncheons, a new feature at the organization’s Capital Connection 2008 venture fair. The invitation-only roundtables – open exclusively to Chief Executive Officers, Chief Financial Officers and Chief Marketing Officers respectively – will enable executives at early, expanding and later-stage growth companies to share their experiences and address issues of importance to their roles in building their company.
The CXO Roundtable luncheons will kick off Capital Connection 2008 on May 27. There will be three separate discussions led by some of the top professionals in those roles and across a variety of business sectors.
